Guiding Growth: Caregiver-Child Therapy Program

Program Description:

Guiding Growth: Caregiver-Child Therapy Program is a 10-week family-centered treatment approach for children ages 5–10 designed to help caregivers support children who present with behaviors that interfere with their ability to build positive relationships and be successful across environments.

The therapy program is designed to help caregivers learn to support children with behavior problems and aims to provide caregivers with the tools and strategies they need to help their child manage their behavior effectively.

The program includes multiple components:

  • The program provides strategies to support caregivers in creating positive connections with their child to improve their relationship and communication. These sessions involve engaging child selected games, art, or other activities while practicing communication techniques.

  • The program provides caregivers with information about the causes of behavior problems and strategies for addressing them. This may include information about child development, effective communication techniques, positive reinforcement, and behavior management techniques.

  • The program teaches caregivers specific skills that they can use to help their child manage their behavior. This may include teaching caregivers how to set boundaries, use effective discipline techniques, and provide positive reinforcement.

  •  The program provides caregivers with ongoing support and guidance as they work to implement the strategies they have learned. This includes weekly meetings as well as a review of homework.
